College student diagnosed with multiple sclerosis finds new hope

Sarah Warto was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) as a college student more than a decade ago. During flare-ups, Sarah experienced disease symptoms, ranging from impaired depth perception to difficulty walking.

The approval of a new treatment developed at the University of California San Francisco means a new outlook for patients like Sarah. Existing treatments had only temporarily reduced symptoms. Now, Sarah has hope that she can have another child without the fear of chronic, debilitating flare-ups.
