California Biopharma Companies Pioneering Lifesaving COVID-19 Testing, Treatments and Vaccines

Millions of people across the globe have contracted COVID-19, and hundreds of thousands have had lives ended too soon. Trillions of dollars have been lost and it’s difficult to predict when life may get back to normal as it will most likely be dependent on reliable tests, treatments and vaccines developed by life science companies – many located here in California. These researchers, scientists, and manufacturers are working tirelessly, in an unprecedented spirit of collaboration, to develop lifesaving medical innovations to help diagnose, treat and eventually prevent this deadly virus so we can get our lives and our economy back on track. More than 85 tests, 1,250 treatments and 100 vaccines are being put into action or are in clinical development with many more in the pipeline.

The California Biotechnology Foundation recently developed a fact sheet that provides an overview of these life-saving discoveries. Visit www.cabiotech.org to learn more. In addition, each week CBF is publishing a collection of news clips linking to articles that provide an update on the latest progress in the development of COVID-19 tests, treatments and vaccines.
